ABOUT TIM ETHERINGTON-JUDGE
My name is Tim Etherington-Judge. I am not a doctor, psychiatrist, nutritionist or health expert. I’m a bartender who became a brand ambassador and is now (occasionally) back behind the bar again. I’ve worked the long hours this industry demands, lost untold hours of sleep due to the nocturnal lifestyle and my diet has been horrific, filled with temporary solutions that usually came with fries, and all of which came with a price – for mind, body and soul.
The idea behind Healthy Hospo was born after I had a breakdown in November 2016 and was re-diagnosed with Severe Uni-polar Depression, in part caused by my hectic and unhealthy lifestyle. I decided that I wouldn’t suffer in silence and let the world know of my illness. The response I received was overwhelming. As my inbox filled up and the personal messages mounted it dawned on me that, by admitting my illness in public, I had uncovered a world of pain and suffering among many in the hospitality industry, most of whom don’t have the safety net of long-term sick leave and full-coverage health insurance to aid in their recovery. It was during this period that the seed for Healthy Hospo was sown.
